A car moves at a speed of 36 km/h on a level road. The co-efficient of friction between the tyres and the road is 0.8. The car negotiates a curve of radius 10 m at this speed. Will the car skid while negotiating the curve? (g = 10 m/s 2 )

Explanation:

after after converting the speed into metre per second we get speed =10m/s

now due to friction, safe speed is given by

V=√mew. rg

V= √ 0.8×10×10= √80= 8.9m/s

so car will skidd as it is greater than safe speed
