A car moves linearly with uniform retardation. If the car covers 40 m in the last 2 seconds of it's motion,
what is the velocity of the car at the beginning of the last 2 second?

Uniform retardation means that the object is losing equal amounts of velocity in equal intervals not time. (Keep this in mind because we are going to check our final answer with the help of this)

Please mark as brainliest if you can

V = 0 (after last 2 seconds)

t = 2

s= 40m

u = s/t (distance time speed relation)

40/2 = 20m/s. = u

Let's check if this is true.

20m/s means that the object covered 20 meters in one second.

Note that the object had uniform retardation as well. This means that the object will cover equal velocities in equal intervals of time.

This answer is true because in the 2nd second it travels 20m/s as well so as to cover 40m in 2 seconds!

Answer:

Explanation:

let he velocity of the car at the beginning of the last second is u

final velocity=0

last travelled distance=40m

time =2 sec

v²=u²-2as

hence a=u²/80

now. v1=u-2*(u²/80)
