please tell me the answer
Answers
Given :
A car moves with a speed of 40 km/h for 15 minutes and then with a speed of 60km/h for the next 15 minute.
To find :
Total distance covered by the car.
Solution :
In 1st condition :
Speed = 40 km/h
Time = 15 minutes = 15/60 = 0.25 h
∵ Distance = Speed × Time
⇒ Distance₁ = 40 × 0.25
⇒ Distance₁ = 10 km
Now in 2nd condition :
Speed = 60 km/h
Time = 15 minutes = 15/60 h = 0.25 h
Now using formula :
⇒ Distance₂ = 60 × 0.25
⇒ Distance₂ = 15 km
Now total distance :
⇒ Total distance = Distance₁ + Distance₂
⇒ Total distance = 10 + 15
⇒ Total distance = 25 km
∴ Total distance covered by car = 25 km.
Answer:
Given :-
- A car moves with a speed of 40 km/h for 15 minutes and then with a speed of 60 km/h for the next 15 minutes.
To Find :-
- What is the total distance covered by the car.
Formula Used :-
✧ Distance = Speed × Time ✧
Solution :-
➲ In first case :
- Speed (s₁) = 40 km/h
- Time (t₁) = 15 minutes = 15/60 = 0.25 hours
According to the question by using the formula we get,
↦ Distance (d₁) = 40 × 0.25
↦ Distance (d₁) = 40 × 25/100
↦ Distance (d₁) = 4 × 25/10
↦ Distance (d₁) = 4 × 5/2
↦ Distance (d₁) = 20/2
➠ Distance (d₁) = 10 km
➲ In second case :
- Speed (s₂) = 60 km/h
- Time (t₂) = 15 minutes = 15/60 = 0.25 hours
According to the question by using the formula we get,
↦ Distance (d₂) = 60 × 0.25
↦ Distance (d₂) = 60 × 25/100
↦ Distance (d₂) = 6 × 25/10
↦ Distance (d₂) = 6 × 5/2
↦ Distance (d₂) = 30/2
➠ Distance (d₂) = 15 km
Now, we have to find the total distance covered by the car,
Given :
- d₁ = 10 km
- d₂ = 15 km
According to the question,
⇒ Total distance covered = d₁ + d₂
⇒ Total distance covered = 10 km + 15 km
➦ Total distance covered = 25 km
∴ The total distance covered by the car is 25 km .
