Given :

v1 = 30 km/h
t1 = 0.5 h

v2 = 25 km/h
t2 = 1 h

v3 = 40 km/h
t3= 2 h

Av. speed= ?

First let us find the total time,

Total time = t1 + t2 + t3

= 0.5 + 1 + 2

= 3.5

Next we shall find total distance,

s1 = v1 * t1

= 30*0.5
= 15 km

s2 = v2*t2

= 25*1
=25 km

s3 = v3*t3

= 40*2
= 80 km

Now,

For finding average speed,

Total distance ÷ Total time

Total.dist ÷ T.time

= 15+25+80 ÷ 3.5

= 120 ÷ 3.5

= 1200 ÷ 35

= 240 ÷ 7

= 37.27 km/h

Answer: 37.285 km/h

Answer:

As we know that

average speed = total distance covered / total time taken

here, total speed is 30+25km/hr = 55 * 5/18 m/s

total time = 90 mins

so,average time = 15.27 / 90

=0.696
