A car moving along a straight road at a steady speed . it travels 150 m in 5 secoands:

1)what is its average speed
2) how far does it travels in 1 secoand
3) how far it travel in 6 secoands
4) how long does it takes to travel 240 m .

Hello,

1) Average speed = Avg. Distance ÷ Avg. Time

Speed = 150 ÷ 5 = 30 m/s

2) Distance in one second = Speed × Time taken

Distance = 30 × 1 = 30 metres

3) Distance in 6 seconds = speed × time

Distance = 30 × 6 = 180 metres

4) Time taken to travel 240 m = Distance ÷ speed

Time taken = 240/ 30 = 8 seconds
