HERE YOUR ANSWER IS

SPEED:

It's a scalar quantity that have only magnitude. It the distance covered by object over unit time.

VELOCITY

It's a vector quantity.It's the speed with direction.

GIVEN

Distance = 1km =1000m

time = 100sec

SOLUTION

Speed = distance / time

= 1000m / 100 sec

= 10m/s

As I told Veocity is the speed with direction

Velocity = 10m/s towards east.
