Given :

M1 ,mass of car = 1000kg

M2 , mass of truck = 8000 kg

U1 , initial velocity of car = 32 m/s

U2 , initial velocity of truck = 4 m/s

V1 , final velocity of car = 8 m/s

To Find :

V2 , Final velocity of truck

Conservation Of Momentum :

\boxed{\green{m1u1+m2u2=m1v1+m2v2}}

Solution :

(1000 * 32) + (8000 * 4) = (1000 * – 8) + (8000 v2)

∴ 32000 + 32000 = – 8000 + 8000 v2

∴ 64000 = 8000 (v2 – 1)

∴ v2– 1 = 8

v2 = 9 m/s 

THEREFORE V2 = 9m/s
