Here;
Mass, m = 1200kg
Velocity, v = 72km/h
time given, t = 20 second
And, the body is coming to rest so ,
final velocity, v = 0km/h
Now , F = ma [but acceleration is not given]
so; a = (v-u)/t
= 0-72/2
= -36km/h^2
Now, F = 1200* (-36)
=> F = -43200 N
Hence, 43200 N force needed to stop car.
