A car of mass 200 kg is moving with an initial velocity of 20 m/s and after t seconds the final velocity of the car becomes 40 m/s. Calculate the change in momentum of the car

Initial velocity (u) = 20m/s

Final velocity (v) = 40m/s

To find:-

Change in momentum

For initial momentum,

By applying, P =mu

= 200×20

= 4000kgm/s.

Foe final momentum,

By applying, P =mv

= 200×40

= 8000kgm/s.

Change in momentum, P2 - P1

= 8000-4000

= 4000kgm/s.
