Given :
- Mass of car = 800 kg
- Velocity of car = 300 m/s
To find :
- Kinetic energy of car
Here we have :
⇔ Mass of car (m) = 800 kg
⇔ Velocity of car (v) = 300 m/s
We know that :
⇔ Kinetic energy (K.E.) = ½ * m * v²
⇒ K.E. = ½ * 800 * (300)²
⇒ K.E. = 400 * 90,000
⇒ K.E. = 36,000,000 J
⇒ K.E. = 36,000 Kj
So, kinetic energy of car = 36,000 Kj
Now in the case of auto rickshaw :
- Mass of auto rickshaw (m) = 100 kg
- Velocity of auto rickshaw (v) = 500 m/s
We have to find :
- Kinetic energy of auto rickshaw
So we know the formula :
⇔ Kinetic energy (K.E.) = ½ * m * v²
⇒ K.E. = ½ * 100 * (500)²
⇒ K.E. = 50 * 250,000
⇒ K.E. = 12,500,000 J
⇒ K.E. = 12,500 Kj
So, kinetic energy of auto rickshaw = 12,500 Kj
So we can see that kinetic energy of car > Kinetic energy of auto rickshaw. [36,000 > 12,500]
Therefore,
Car has higher kinetic energy.
