Answer:

8.10 m/ s^2

Explanation:

Given:

d = 110 m    t = 5.21 s    v(initial) = 0 m/s

Find:

a = ??

d = v(initial) x t + 0.5 x a x t^2

110 m = (0 m/s) x (5.21 s)+ 0.5 x (a) x (5.21 s)^2

110 m = (13.57 s2) x a

a = (110 m)/(13.57 s^2)

a = 8.10 m/ s^2

Answer

The acceleration of the car is

8.1 m/s²

Given

  • A car starts from rest i.e. u = 0
  • time taken , t = 5.21s
  • Distance covered,s =110m

To Find

  • The acceleration of the car.

Formula to be used

  • s = ut + (1/2)at²

Solution :

Let us consider the acceleration of the car be a

So putting the given quantities in the above formula we have

⇒ 110 = 0×(5.21)+ (1/2)×a×(5.21)²

⇒ 110 = (1/2)×a×5.21×5.21

⇒ a = (110×2)/(5.21×5.21)

a = 8.104 m/s²

Thus the required acceleration of the car is 8.1m/s²
