Solution :

The car starts from rest .

So, u = 0

Now , acceleration is uniform .

The car travels 100m in 5 seconds .

According to the second equation of motion -

S = ut + ½ at²

=> 100 = ( 0 × 5 ) + ½ a × 5 × 5

=> 100 = ½ × 25 a

=> ½ a = 4

=> a = 8 m/s² .

Now , after 5 seconds , the final velocity -

According to the first equation of motion -

v = u + at

=> v_5 = 0 + 8 × 5

=> V_5 = 40 m/s

Answer - The final velocity is 40 m/s .

Explanation:

u=0. s=100m. t=5sec

We know that ,

s=ut+1/2at^2

100=0×5+1/2 a(5)^2

100/25=1/2a

4×2=a

a=8m/s^2

Now using,v=u+at

v=0+8×5

v=40 m/s

Final Velocity=40m/s
