Given,

s1= 50 km /h

t1 = 45 min =0.75 hr

s2 = 30 km/ h

To find:

t2 ( i. e time taken to cover the same dist in 30 km/ hr) .

Solution:

let,

s1 be the initial speed

s2 be the second speed

t1 be the initial time

t2 be the second time

d be the distance

s1 = d /t1

or, 50km /h= d/ 0.75

or, 50× 0.75 =d

hence, distance travelled is equal to 37.5 km

Now,

s2 = d/ t2

or, 30= 37.5 / t2 (dist is as mentioned above)

or, t2 = 37.5/ 30

or, t2=1.25 hr

Hence, the time taken to cover the distance of 37.5 kilo metres is 1.25 hr or 85 mins.
