v₀ = initial speed of the car = 30 m/s

v = final speed of the car when it comes to complete stop = 0 m/s

a = acceleration of the car during the motion = - 4 m/s²

t = time taken by the car to stop

Using the equation

v = v₀ + a t

inserting the values in the above equation

0 = 30 + (- 4) t

0 = 30 - 4 t

4 t = 30

dividing both side "4"

4t/4 = 30/4

t = 30/4

t = 7.5 sec
