Answer:

It will take 5 hours i.e. 300 minutes to travel 200 miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

By unitary method, we get 120 X x = 200 X 3. Thus x comes out to be 5. It we talk about how much more time it would take to cover 200 miles when the car has already covered 120 miles the it will take 2 hours I.e. 120 minute.

speed =  \frac{distance}{time}  \\ speed =  \frac{120 \: miles}{3 \: hours}  \\ speed = 40 \: mi {h}^{ - 1}

To travel 200 miles, the car needs:

time =  \frac{distance}{speed}  \\ time =  \frac{200 \: miles}{40 \: mi {h}^{ - 1} }  \\ time = 5 \: hours = 300 \: minutes

Hope this helps.

Thanks.
