Answer:

Distance traveled by the car = 90 km

Time taken by the car =hours = 2 hours + 30 minutes = 120 minutes + 30 minutes = 150 minutes

Speed of the car

=Distance travelled/Time taken

=90/150=3/5Km/min

Time taken by the car to travel 30 km

=  Distance/speed

=30/(3/5)

=30×5/3

=50 minutes

Given: distance= 90km

time taken= 2hr 30 min = 2.5 hours or 150 min

Find: (a) Time required to cover in 30 km

(b) Distance covered in 2 hours

Firstly we will find the speed of the car i.e.,

Speed = Distance covered

Time taken

Speed = 90 km

2.5 hr

Speed = 36 km/hr or 10meter/sec

(a) Time required for 30 km

= Distance covered

speed

= 30 km

36 km/hr

= 0.83 hr or 50 min

Hence, the time required to cover 30km = 50 min or 0.83 hours.

(b) Distance covered in 2 hours

= speed × time

= 36 km/hr × 2 hr

= 72 km

Hence distance covered in 2 hours is 72 km
