Answer: 48km/h

Explanation:

Speed from A to B - 40km/h

Speed from B to A - 60km/h

Let distance from A to B be x(km)

Therefore,

Time from A to B- Distance/Speed

= x/40(hrs)

Time from B to A- Distance/speed

= x/60(hrs)

Average speed- Total Distance/Total Time

= x+x/x/40+x/60

= 2x/6x+4x/240

= 2x/10x/240

= 2x/x/24

= 2x*24/x

= 2*24

= 48 km/h

Hope this helps....
