the point represents the equation.

if we put (3/120)in the the equation we will take x=3and y=120

so,y=40x will be

120 =40×3

120=120

Answer:

Car travelled 120 miles in 3 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: A car travels at 40 miles per hour. Deb wrote the equation y=40x.

To determine what point (3,120) represents.

We have speed of car=40 miles per hour.

We know that, distance= speed* time

So, y=40x

It means that x-axis gives time & y-axis gives distance.

Hence point (3,120) represents car travelled 120 miles in 3 hours.
