time = distance/speed

total time = (3000/30) + (3000/40)

                = 175 hours

A car travels first 3000km at an average rate of 30km/h and further travels the same distance at an average of 40km/h .

we know,
time = distance/speed

time taken by first time by car = 3000/30
= 100hrs

time taken by 2nd time by car = 3000/40
= 75 hrs

so, total time taken by car = 100 + 75 = 175 hrs.
