A car travels from A to B at a constant speed
of 20 kmph and without stopping at B return
to A at constant speed of 30 kmph. The
average speed of the car and average velocity
of car are respectively
1.25 kmph 24 kmph 2.24 kmph, 24 kmph
3.25 kmph, 0 4.24 kmph, 0

Answer:

1.25kmph,24kmph

Explanation:

(i)

the speed from A to B = 20km/h

the speed from B to A = 30km/h

the average speed of the car during the journey = (20+30)/2

                                                                                 = 50/2

                                                                                 = 25km/h

(ii)

for two equal distances, formula is:

average speed = 2*a*b/(a+b)

where a and b are the speeds during each distance.

now, applying values from given question:

average speed = 2*20*30/(20+30)

                         = 1200/50

                         = 120/5

                         = 24km/h

hope it helps you
