Q on reacting with hydrogen in presence of catalyst forms a saturated compound.

Hence, Q will be an unsaturated compound.

P is an alcohol which on dehydration with conc.

H₂SO₄ forms an alkene.

Alkene on combustion forms CO₂ and H₂O.

P -  CH_3CH_2OHCH\\\\Q - CH_2 = CH_2CH\\\\R -  CH_3CH_3CH

\sf {CH_3CH_2OH \xrightarrow[]{conc. H_2SO_4} CH_2= CH_2 +H_2O}\\\\\\\sf {CH_2 = CH_2 +H_2 \xrightarrow[]{Ni} CH_3CH_3}\\\\\\\sf {CH_3CH_3 + O_2 \rightarrow 2CO_2+ 3H_2O}
