Carbon compound P - Ethanol ( CH3CH2OH)

Carbon compound- Ethene (C2H4. Or CH2=CH2)

When Ethanol is heated at 443K with excess concentrated Sulphuric Acid (H2SO4) , it gives unsaturated carbon compound which is Ethene . The reaction is as follows ::-

                        Hot conc.

CH3CH2OH    ----------------->  CH2=CH2 + H2O

                         H2SO4
