In a pack of 52 cards,

Ace = 4

probability = no. of possible outcomes/total outcomes

so P(E) = 4/52 or 1/13

hope this helps you out!

SOLUTION:

The correct option is (b) : 1/13

Given :  One card is drawn from a well shuffled Deck of 52 playing cards.

Total number of outcomes = 52

Let E = Event of getting an ace

Number of  ace in a Deck  = 4 (1 from each suit )

Number of favourable outcomes to E = 4

Probability P(E) = Number of favourable outcomes / total number of outcomes

P(E) = 4/52 = 1/13

Hence, the probability of getting an ace, P(E)  = 1/13  .
