Given:

Two cards are chosen at random from a deck of 52 cards with replacement.

To find:

the probability of choosing a jack and then an eight.

Solution:

1) The number of jack card in the deck = 4

The number of eight  card in the deck = 4

2) the probability of choosing a jack and then an eight

= Number of the favorable outcome/Total number of outcomes.

= 4/52×4/52

= 1/169

The probability of choosing a jack and then an eight is 1/169.
