Answer:

Probability of not getting a king = 12/13

Probability of not getting 6 on dice = 5/6

Step-by-step Explanation :-

(I) Probability of not getting a king :-

Total number of possible outcomes = 52

Let E be the event that the drawn card is not a king.

Total number of kings = 4

∴ There are 52−4 = 48 cards that are not kings.

Total number of favourable outcomes = 48

Therefore,

Required probability,

P(E) = Favourable outcomes / Total number of outcomes

= 48/52

= 12/13

Hence, The probability of not getting a king = 12/13.

(II) Probability of not getting 6 on dice :-

Total number of possible outcomes = 6

Let E be the event of not getting 6 on dice.

Total number of six on dice = 1

∴ There are 6-1 = 5 numbers on dice which are not 6.

Total number of favourable outcomes = 5

Therefore,

Required probability,

P(E) = Favourable outcomes / Total number of outcomes

= 5/6

Hence, The probability of not getting 6 = 5/6.
