area of room = 7 x 7= 49 m²

area of carpet = 5 x 4= 20 m²

area of room uncovered = area of room - area of carpet

                                         = 49 -20

                                         = 29 m²

width of rectangular carpet = 4 m

area of square floor = side X side

= 7m X 7m

= 49m sq.

area of rectangular carpet = length Xwidth

= 5 m X 4m

= 20m sq.

area of floor uncovered =

area of square floor Xarea of rectangular carpet

=49- 20

=29m sq.
