carpet offered at 110/100 *4000+ 4000 = 4400

after 20%discount=4400*20/100=880

Carpet's original cost = Rs. 4000
During festival season the carpet was offered for sale at 110% of its actual cost , i e.,

110% of Rs. 4000
= {(110/100)×4000}
= 1.1 × 4000
= 4400.
Later a discount of 20% is given on the carpet
= (4000×20)/100
= 800

The carpet fetched ₹800 for its sale.
