given, initial velocity u= 40 km/s, time t= 5 s, final value v= 0 (rest)

suppose acceleration = - a(deacceleration)

from first law of motion v= u-a*t

0= 40 - a*5,

suppose traveled distance = S

from second law of motion S= u*t - 1/2*a*t^2

S= 40*5 - 1/2*4*5^2

S= 100 m/s

yamunadevimuthu: actually ur answer is wrong
yamunadevimuthu: first we want to km to m , hour to seconds
yamunadevimuthu: 30,000 ÷ 3600
yamunadevimuthu: answer is 8.33
