Weight of final product = 72.96 kg.

\fbox{\texttt{\pink{Given:}}}

  • Weight of casting = 80 kg.

  • 4% of the total weight is reduced during preliminary machining.

  • 5% of the remaining weight is reduced for final finishing.

Weight of the final product(after final finishing).

\fbox{\texttt{\red{How\:to\:Find:}}}

Given that, weight of casting = 80 kg.

Weight reduced in preliminary machinig =

\rm{80\times{}\dfrac{4}{100}=3.2\:kg}

∴ Remaining weight = 80 - 3.2 = 76.8 kg.

\hrulefill

Material machined off for final finish

= 5% of remaining weight

= \rm{\dfrac{5}{100}\times{}76.8}

= \rm{3.84\:kg.}

∴ Total weight remaining = 76.8 - 3.84 = 72.96 kg.

∴ Weight of final product = 72.96 kg.
