Answer:

There are three major functional regions of cells:

cell membrane or plasma membrane,

nucleus and

cytoplasm.

Explanation:

A plasma membrane separates each cell from the environment, permits the flow of molecules across the membrane, and contains receptors that can affect the cell’s activities. It provides overall rigidity and shape to the cell. It also protects the cell from external harmful agents like bacteria, virus, etc.

b. A DNA-containing region occupies a portion of the interior . This region is the nucleus consisting of chromatin fibres for storing one's heredity.

c. The cytoplasm contains membrane-bound compartments (except bacteria), particles, and filaments ,all bathed in a semifluid substance . it also contains some important parts like mitochondria, golgi bodies, robustness, etc. Thus most of the chemical reactions of a cell take place in the cytoplasm.
