Cell is called structural and fundamental unit of life because body of all the organisms is made up of cells. It is functional unit of life because all the functions of body (physiological, biochemical. genetic and other metabolic functions) are carried out by cells.

Division of labour in terms of cell means that the different tasks are assigned to different cells in our body.

These tasks are different from cell to cell as the different types of cells performs different functIons.

Eg :---

A nerve cell is used to transport electrical signals from one part of body to another.

WHEREAS

A body cell are assigned with different tasks like respiration, transpiration, producing energy(ATP), etc.
