a cell is connected in two circuits with 2 ohm and 4 ohm respectively. Current drawn are 1A and 2A respecyively. calculate emf and internal resistance of the cell.

Let EMF of the cell = E

and internal resistance be r.

then E  = 1*r+2*1     ----------------(1)

 and  E = 2*r + 4*2  ---------------------(2)

(2)-(1) =>  r + 6 = 0

Here, r is a negative value which means that there is no existing value of r and E .
