A cell is placed in solution A and it swells up. what kind of solution it is. why does it happen

The solution is hypotonic. This is because th higher concentration of water molecules is outside the cell. So, the water molecules move from external solution into cell sap. The solution is a hypotonic solution.

If is a hypotonic solution
When osmosis happens it collects water inside itself because the concentration of water is less inside it
