A cell can swell up if kept in hypotonic solution (solution in which the concentration of water is more outside the cell and Less in the cell). The cell is likely to swell up as the water will move into cell through the process of osmosis (a process by which water molecules enter to the cell through semi permeable membrane /cell membrane) and the cell will swell up.
