A. The company sells 7000 bags of white cement and 6000 bags of grey cement in a month. What is the profit or loss?
Given:
Profit for selling each white cement bag = Rs. 9
Loss for selling each grey cement bag = Rs. 5
Bags of white cement sold by the company = 7,000
Bags of grey cement sold by the company = 6,000
Hence profit earned by the company = 7,000 × 9 = Rs.63,000
Loss incurred by the company = 6,000 × 5 = Rs. 30,000
63,000 is greater than 30,000, Hence there is a gain of Rs. 33,000 for the company.
Hope this help you...,

A cement company earns a profit of ` 9 per bag of white cement sold and a loss of ` 5 per bag of grey cement sold.
(i) The company sells 7000 bags of white cement and 6000 bags of grey cement in a month. What is its profit or loss?
(ii) What is the number of white cement bags it must sell to have neither profit nor loss, if the number of grey bags sold is 5400.
Solution : Profit earned per bag of white cement = 9
Lose earned per bag of grey cement = 5
(i) A company sells 7000 bags of white cement and 6000 bags of grey cement.
Now, Profit earned on white cement bags = 9 × 7000 = 63,000
Loss incurred on grey cement bags = 6000 * 5 = 30,000
Here, Profit > Loss, So there is an overall profit.
Overall profit = 63000 - 30000
= 33000
(ii) To have neither profit nor loss, the company should gain equal amount of profit on white cement as loss occurred on grey cement.
Given, grey bags = 5400
Loss incurred = 5400 * 5 = 27000
As to get neither profit nor loss, profit on white cement = 27000
Now, Let white cement bags = x
Profit = 9x
According to the question, 9x = 27000 , x = 3,000.
Therefore, In the first case, the company gains 33000 Rupees and in the second case, to get neither profit nor loss, 3000 white bags must be sold
