A cement factory gains at the rate of ₹8 per bag on white cement and looses at the rate of ₹5 per bag on gray colour cement
(i) Company sells 3000 bags of white cement and 5000 bags of gray cement What is his toss or profit ?
(ii) If numbers of bags of gray colour cement 6400 then how many bags of white cement should company sold so that there is no loss no profit ?

Answer 1

I) loss of Rs. 1000

II)Number of bags of white cement to be sold = 10240

I) Number of bags of white cement sold = Rs. 3000

Number of bags of gray cement sold =Rs. 5000

Profit on one bag of gray cement = Rs. 8

Loss on one bag of white cement = Rs. 5

Total loss or profit = 3000 × 8 - 5000 × 5

= -1000

Company will suffer a loss of Rs. 1000.

II) Number of gray colour cement sold = 6400

Let number of bags of white cement sold be x.

Profit = 0

=> 6400 × 8 = x × 5

=> x = 10240

The company has to sell 10240 bags of white cement inorder to gain no profit.
