Answer: 0

Explanation:

As we know that if complete hydration take place means all of capillary water space are filled with the hydrated cement product. For complete hydration it requires 0.36 of w/c ratio. After complete hydration there is no capillary pores.

As ask In question w/c is 0.4 and complete hydration takes place it means there is a no capillary pores.

Nowadays, the mass of water and cement in an appropriate proportion is a very fundamental principle.

Explanation:

  • The hardening of cement is a very important parameter that isn obtained by the correct ratio of water to cement.
  • "Capillary porosity" i.e. the space in cement mixture is very helpful in building the strength and durability of the paste.
  • The desirable value of porosity is 0.3 and 0.4.
