Concept:

Simple Interest: It's the type of interest which is calculated on the principal amount and remains constant for every year.

Principal amount is the original amount invested in a investment.

Rate of interest is the rate at which the simple or compound interest is being calculated.

Given:

We are given that:

The sum becomes k times itself in 16years and 2k times in 40 years.

Find:

We need to find that in how many years, it will become 4k times itself.

Solution:

Let the amount of sum invested to be x at interest rate of y%

ATQ:

The sum of money increases fro  k to 2k times in (40-16) years.

That is the increase in money by 2 times is in 24 years.

So, the increase in money by 4k times from 2k times will be:

t=40+24

t=64 years.

Therefore, it will require 64 years to make the money 4k times.
