i don't think that there will be any other method which will be easier than this one.....

in case 1, take P as 1....this P becomes 3 times.....so interest becomes 3-1=2, at rate 4%

in case 2, take P as 1 ...amount becomes 6... interest becomes 5...(6-1).

from both these cases... initially interest was 2... then it became 5.....2*2.5 gives 5.

like this we must multiply rate 4% with 2.5 = 10%.
