Answer:

49:48

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that :-

One variety of tea:

x= Rs. 30.40 per kg

Other variety of lower quality tea:

y= Rs 20.50 per kg

The good quality and the lower quality ta are mixed in a certain ratio to obtain a mix of Tea worth Rs. 25.40 per kg.

We have to find in what ratio both the teas must be mixed so that the mixture is worth Rs 25.40 per kg

Hence, we obtain an equation as:

- 30.40x+ 20.50y= 25.40(x+y)

- 30.40x+ 20.50y= 25.40x+ 25.40y

- 30.40x-25.40x= 25.40y-20.50y

- 4.80x= 4.90y

- x/y= 49/48

Hence, the ratio in which the good quality and the lower quality tea should be mixed to make the ratio worth Rs 25.40 is 49:48
