C + T = 480

Let C be x

C = x

T = 3x

x + 3x = 480

4x = 480

x =  \frac{480}{4}

x = 120

C = 120

T = 120 × 3 = 360

Answer:

The cost of the chair is Rs.120 and the table is Rs.360.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost of the chair be x and the table be 3x.

According to the Question,

x+3x=480

4x=480

x=480/4

x=120

Therefore, The Cost of chair is Rs. 120

                 The cost of table=3x

                                              =3X120

                                               =Rs.360
