Answer:-

The number of chairs housewife purchased are 8.

Explanation:-

Given:-

  • Cost of one chair = ₹250.
  • Cost of one table = ₹400.
  • Cost of two tables and certain chairs = ₹2800.

To Find:-

  • The number of chairs she had purchased.

So,

Let the number of chairs she had purchased be y.

And it is given that cost of y chairs and 2 tables is 2800.

Therefore ATQ:-

Addition of 2 times cost of one table and y times cost of 1 chair is equal to 2800.

↦ (2 × ₹400) + (y × ₹250) = ₹2800.

↦ ₹800 + ₹250y = ₹2800.

↦ ₹250y = ₹2800 - ₹800.

↦ ₹250y = ₹2000.

↦ y = ₹2000/₹250.

↦ y = 8/1.

↦ y = 8.

Therefore Number of chairs purchased is y = 8.
