▶ Question - A chair is purchased for Rs. 700 and sold for Rs. 560. Find gain or loss per cent.

▶ Given :-

CP of the chair = Rs. 700

SP of the chair = Rs. 560

▶ Explanation :-

As SP < CP, we get loss

=> Loss = CP - SP

= 700 - 560

= 140

Loss = Rs. 140

=> Loss % = Loss / CP × 100

= 140 / 700 × 100

= 140 / 7

= 20

Loss % = 20 %

\huge{\bold{\mathfrak{Here\:is \:ur\:answer}}}⤵️

Given:-

Cost Price of The chair=₹700

SP of the chair = ₹560
------------------------------------------––---––----↓

As Cost Price is more than Selling Price the chair is sold at some loss

so,

loss = CP ―SP

=₹700-₹560
=₹140

---------------------------------------––---––----↓

So, loss = ₹140

=>

As we know that,

Loss % =
 \frac{ loss}{cost \: price \: of \: the \: article} \times 100 \\ \\ \\ = \frac{140}{700} \times 100 = 20\%

so, Loss percent = 20%
