Yudhishthira was born and brought up along with his younger brothers Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula and Sahadeva in recluse of sages, in a forest surrounding the valley of Satasringa mountains, believed to be somewhere in Uttaranchal. This life in a forest along with sages had a great impact on him

Explanation:

  • The true talent of Yudhishtra was shown in his unwavering devotion to the truth and dharma that was more precious to him. He lived his whole life with sage like qualities even while living as a king in his royal palace and became later known as one among the royal sages
  • He was right from his childhood virtuous and was affectionate towards his younger brothers, and to some degree even towards Duryodhana who always envied the Pandavas and him.
  • Many saw him as the embodiment of truth. He gave justice the greatest importance as a monarch.  Despite the difficulties it offered him, he decided to live his chosen path. Once Duryodhana was exiled to the forest together with his brothers, many urged him to return and reclaim his kingdom immediately. He chose to live 12 years of woodland exile and secret one year of life. He also took advantage of this suffering by speaking to educated people, passing through the ancient Indian kingdoms. And he got to know the difficulties.
