Potential at a distance of 9 m is  10^{5}  volt

Given : A charge of 100 micro coulomb

Distance of the charge from the reference point is 9 m

To Find : Potential at a distance of 9 m

Solution : Potential at a distance of 9 m is  10^{5}  volt

It is given that we have a charge of 100 micro coulomb  = 100 × 10^{-6} = 10^{-4} Coulomb

We have to find the potential at a distance of 9 m

Electric potential (V) is calculated as

V = \frac{(k) Q}{r}

where k is constant  whose value is 9 × 10^{9}

Q is charge of the particle

r is distance of the particle from the reference point

Putting all the given values in the formula

Q = 10^{-4} C

r = 9 m

k =  9 × 10^{9}

V = \frac{(9)(10^{9})(10^{-4})  }{9}

V = 10^{5} volt

So potential at a distance of 9 m is  10^{5}  volt
