1st case ,

As we know V=W/Q

put the values

V = 20/50

V = 0.4 v

In 2nd case,

V = W/Q

put the values

V = 25/50

V = 0.5 v

Given :

Charge of particle , Q = 50 C .

To Find :

The potential difference between point a and b .

Solution :

We know , potential energy is given by change in work done by charge on particle .

V=\dfrac{Difference\ in\ work\ Done}{Charge}\\\\V=\dfrac{W_f-W_i}{Q}\\\\V=\dfrac{25-20}{50}\ V\\\\V=0.1 \ V

Therefore , potential difference between point a and b is 0.1 V .
