Given info : a charge q is placed at the corner of a regular cube of side l.

To find : the electric flux passing through each of the adjacent face is...

solution : now if a charge q is placed at the corner of a cube, charge is shared within 8 cubes so the charge shared by each cube is q/8.

now electric lines of force emit by this charge and parallel to each adjacent faces (i.e., three adjacent faces) [see figure ] so the normal to the surface (area vector) is perpendicular to the electric lines of force.

but we know, flux is dot product of area vector and electric field intensity (or electric lines of force).

so, Φ = BA cos90° = 0

hence electric flux passing through each adjacent face of the cube is zero.
