A charged particle is free to move in an electric field. Will it always move along and electric line of force

The electric force on the particle will always act in the direction of the line of force. Hence, if the particle is initially at rest then it will be accelerated along the line of force.

But if it enters with accelerated motion at an angle with the direction of the field, then its path will not be along the line of force.
