a chemical test to distinguish between NH4Cl and KCl

You could dissolve both in water & spray them through a hot flame. If the flame shows briefly purple then it’s KCl, if yellow then NaCl.

Not so much a chemical test but easy and the lilac potassium flame test colour shows up well this way.
