total = 10 litres .
let from 50% amount taken = x litres
from 25% amount taken = y litres
40% of 10 litres = pure chemical present
== 4 litres
then x + y = 10
and 50% of x + 25% of y = 4
2 x + y = 4
and x + y = 10
then after solving y = 4 & x = 6
from 50 % = 6 litres
from 25% = 4 litres.
